The Alhambra is one of the most visited monuments in Europe. This, together with access restrictions for conservation reasons, makes it not always easy to get a ticket. To avoid surprises, it is highly recommended to book your Alhambra tickets in advance and know how to access and visit the monumental complex. Tickets can be purchased from one year in advance up to two hours before the scheduled time for entrance.
The Alhambra ticket options
They are nominative, so be ready to show some piece of photo identification to be granted to the monument. Read our tips to make your visit unforgettable. If Alhambra tickets are not sold out, you can buy them at the Alhambra ticket office on the day of your visit up to 2 hours before the Nasrid Palaces time of entry. However, keep in mind that you might have to stand in line for a long time only to find out that there are no tickets left.
Best Alhambra Guided Tours
The Alhambra is full of history, art and beauty that you should not be missing. We strongly recommend taking a guided tour as there is not much informative signage throughout the complex. A guided tour will allow you not only to skip the lines but also to enjoy and learn from an expert professional in the history of the Alhambra who will be with you throughout your visit. Normally, by adding 10 or 15 euros to the normal ticket price, you can get a 3-hour guided tour, with the benefit of getting a last minute ticket.
There are many Alhambra guided tours available. It might be difficult to choose one as the tour titles look similar. You need to pay attention to what these tours offer. There are tours for 18 euros only, but these visits do not even include an audio guide. Other guided tours cost 30-40 euros but might only include the audio guide or include only the Generalife and the Alcazaba, not the Nasrid Palaces (the most important part). It is important that you check the list of sites included in the tour and whether the tour guide is an expert, not an audio guide.
At Art Chapiz Apartments, we have made a selection for you of the best Alhambra Guided Tours from our partners. These all include the Alhambra ticket entrance to the Nasrid Palaces, the Generalife and the Alcazaba, accompanied by an official expert guide.
